Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
A chapter 7 bankruptcy filing starts at $900 for an individual filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Conditions and terms apply for this low price. Special issues such as owning cabins, rental homes, rush filings, and being self-employed will increase fees to $1200 or $1500. If you have multiple complicating factors it could be higher than this but we are usually competitively priced with other attorneys. If you are married there is an additional fee of $500 whether you are filing jointly or not because we have to include both spouses income and consider assets and debts accordingly. All filings require an additional $299 filing fee paid to the bankruptcy court.
Chapter 13 Bankruptcy
A chapter 13 bankruptcy filing is a court supervised repayment plan of your debts. This allows you to catch up on past due debt on your home and therefore keep your home. Debtors will be quoted on a case by case basis but our legal fees are not much more in pricing than a chapter 7 filing. A chapter 13 filing does not require that the entire fee be paid up front and therefore the additional fee can be included in the re-payment plan after you file. All Chapter 13 filings require an additional $274 filing fee paid to the bankruptcy court.

A Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing is typically a business re-organization plan but can be filed by an individual. The legal fees for Chapter 11 vary substantially based on the size of the company and the legal issues, assets, and debts. Most small business bankruptcy filings are typically around $10-20,000 depending on the size of the company and other issues. All Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings require an additional $1,039.00 filing fee paid to the bankruptcy court.
